Nowadays, online shopping and E-commerce is so common that most us purchase things in the comforts of our own home with just a click away. There is no need to physically visit a shop, choose what we like, line up to the cashier and pay for it before you walk away with a designer clothes or shoes. Have you ever wonder what was off-site shopping experience like before Internet?

In the 1950s, such concept was way advance of its time. In Pembroke, Ontario, Canada, visionary business entrepreneur Lawrence Freiman opened a brand new store reinvented the way we buy things and shopkeepers do business.

Even before we swipe and select good products from the bad, Freiman already got it covered. Well you still have to physically visit the store but the selection and ordering process is all but streamlined much like the way you experience online shopping.

The various product catalogs are stored similar to a microfilm in libraries where the staff change the images being loaded on the screen depending on what the customer is looking for. Once the customers has made their choice, they can press a button to call the sales counselor to check out the product.

Once you've placed your order by Teletype, the merchandise is delivered straight to your door.
