Before there was on-board stereo systems, Columbia Records has brought music to the comfort of your car with their in-car vinyl player during the 1960s. Nowadays, we can stream our favorite podcasts or MP3 music from our smartphone to our on-board wireless music system.

If you happened to own a 1956 Chrysler, DeSoto, Dodge or Plymouth way back when, you have the option to install that in-car phonograph so you can play your favorite rock and roll music from Elvis to Jerry Lewis.

It could handle 45-speed records as well as 7-inch records in the latest 16-2/3 format. What makes it unique is that the player is installed on a slide-out turntable located beneath the dashboard and hidden behind a drop-down compartment that opens up at a touch of a button. Before we had touchscreen control and crisp hi-fi music, drivers can easily switch between phonograph to radio with a flip of a switch with the same controls for volume and equalizer.
