This amazing sedan was a promised future car from no less than a then-Chrysler executive.

In a Jetsons'-like design, future visionaries of the 1960's have conceptualized a solar-powered car that will make gas-guzzling automobiles a thing of the past. Although most car manufacturers have made tremendous strides in fuel efficiency over the past half century, we're still waiting for an environmentally-friendly vehicle that will utilize the power of the sun to charge its battery and eventually use it to run the engine.

There are hybrid cars that run on both gas and electricity but there is no reliable solar-powered cars yet. The problem is that, sunlight coverage differs from place to place so that if you live in the sunny American southwest then this car will be a cheap and reliable form of transportation but not in the rainy areas of Washington state. The future car that we all want is still beyond reach!
