Mid-Century Japanese Robots of the Future (1969)

There is no doubt that Japan is the robot capital of the world and their love affair for humanoids, automatons and other mechanical inventions have extended to their future visions and imaginations. Before Gundam, Astroboy and Voltes V became household names, they have already envisioned how these creations will benefit future society.

Popular magazine "Shonen Sunday" publishes a series of illustrations depicting the future use of robotic technology. A factory line of robots is being assembled by a specialist robot. Talk about programming an automaton to build another in its own image. In this case, no one will be tired or stop working since robots never stop.

This is a plausible real-life future scenario wherein advancement of technology and increasing automation would mean newer and better versions of robots thus the need for human factory workers will cease to exist.

Will humans be dead lazy in the future that taking care of our babies will now be delegated to robots? I couldn't imagine our kids talking like robots and even acting like one.

Smaller integrated circuits and the miniaturization of critical components will now be possible as humans create nanobots that will be injected in our blood streams. These robots will now navigate throughout our body and perform delicate operations from heart surgery to internal organ repair. Armed with lasers and microscopic scalpels, these robots will reduce the need for risky open surgeries.
